What Lies Beneath the Waves

From the moment you first launch the game, you’re greeted by the mermaid floating beneath the waves. Every so often, you’ll see fish swimming by behind the reels while seaweed subtly sways back and forth. We also like rising water bubbles, making the backdrop feel more dynamic.

Available symbol designs are a mix of playing card royals, gold coins, tridents, rings, and treasure chests. The mermaid is a Wild, while the octopus plays the part of a Scatter icon. Finally, pearls are bonus symbols that work alongside Wilds to award payouts.

A Mermaid’s Power

Wilds play several important roles in the Mermaid Mighty Reels slot. They can substitute for all symbols except for Scatters and bonus icons and can land in any reel. Additionally, Wilds can expand to cover the entire reel they’re on. When this happens, the standard 5×3 playing area with 10 paylines expands into a 5×6 grid with 20 paylines for that turn.

During each spin, there’s a chance pearl symbols appear on reels two, three, four, and five. Each one has an attached cash prize ranging from 0.5x to 10x your stake. When an expanded Wild appears on the reels, it collects all visible cash prizes and adds them to your total. Pearl wins are paid before any other winning combinations.

Three Scatters on reels three, four, and five will trigger eight free spins. While the feature is active, even Wilds that are partially on the screen will cause the top three rows to open up. If three Scatters appear before the free spins run out, you get eight more.

Toggling on Premium Play increases your current bet by 1.5x. If you win 2.5x or more in one spin, this will activate the Premium Play wheel, through which you can win multipliers and free spins.
