Microgaming Welcomes German Regulations & New Slots in October

Microgaming has announced a new online casino solution, ready to launch by October 15, 2020, following Germany’s new online gambling regulations.
In March 2020, the German federal states have decided to implement a new law regulating online gambling. German Interstate Treaty on Gambling (ISTG 2021) is to come into force on July 1, 2021. The new law opens the German market and regulates online gambling under strict rules for player protection.
Microgaming’s new solution fully complies with a transitional tolerance policy coming into effect on October 15, 2020. It will help the company’s clients be technically ready to enter the German market without a problem.
The company also said that more than 150 games would be available for Microgamin’s customers, including most popular titles like Bonanza from Big Time Gaming and 9 Masks of Fire by Gamebirger Studios.
Germany’s New Rules
The company said they fully support Germany’s new gambling regulations. ISTG 2021 will implement online slots licensing regime for commercial operators, which means the liberalization of the online gambling market. The law will also promote social responsibility and the reduction of gambling-related issues.
New regulations forbid players to use more than one online gambling account simultaneously, introducing a 5 minutes break between logging out of one account and logging into another. This means that gamblers are not allowed to play offerings from different online casino providers at the same time.
Furthermore, the new account creation procedure will request from providers to verify the user’s credentials.
The law also introduces a ban on all gambling advertising, includes a five-second pause between reel spins, a monthly deposit limit, and maximum stake per spin on slots. All online gambling offering needs to be in the German language.
